Some cargo boat on the St-Lawrence River, going into the Great Lakes. "Big Lift" is the sign on the starboard. Wonder what exactly the ship purpose is?
I'm guessing. But those two cranes appear to be made to operate together, and that would give them the ability to lift a huge load. The Glomar Explorer, which I sailed past frequently while she was in Long Beach, had two towers that looked more like oil derricks. The secret part was that she had a huge 'moon pool', which is where they tried to raise that Russian atomic sub (Probably an Alpha). I forget what happened, but they lost most of the sub back into the deeps.
If this ship has a similar moon pool, those cranes could probably lift a huge amount.
The shot was taken in Canada, along the St-Lawrence River, which links the Atlantic into the Great Lakes. I might actually asks one of my friend who worked on the Lakes during his career. Thanks a lot for the info!
If you look closely at them it looks like there is machinery within them Perhaps the "cages" are simply frameworks to protect the machinery and allow them to be moved more effectively
thats a big one at first I thought it was some sort of Drill ship, but it might be like a mobile crane for off shore drilling development sites ...hmmm well that is what I think it might be Great shot my friend

All just a guess...

Megaships
Big lift means it can lift and carry very heavy cargo(I Think)
