Some facts about sharks:

Multiple rows of replacement teeth grow in a groove on the inside of the jaw and steadily move forward as in a "conveyor belt"; some sharks lose 30,000 or more teeth in their lifetime. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark

The olfactory ability in sharks is well known, although the idea that sharks are able to detect and follow a drop of blood diluted in the ocean over many miles is an exaggeration. elasmodiver.com/shark_senses.h…

One group of sensory organs is the ampullae of Lorenzini, which allows sharks to detect, among other things, the electrical fields created by prey animals. The hammerhead's increased ampullae sensitivity allows it to find its favorite meal, stingrays, which usually bury themselves under the sand. animals.nationalgeographic.com…

The larger modern fish is the Whale Shark (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whale_sh…) who can be up to 40 ft tall. On the other hand, this huge beast feeds on plankton and other microorganisms.

The prehistoric Megalodon shark, considering the size of its teeth (up to 7 inches), was estimated to have a size up to 60 feet (18 m), which is considerably bigger than modern Great White Shark (20 ft - 2 @ 6 m). animals.howstuffworks.com/fish…
